Heinz Salad Cream

YCN Brief
Problem - Heinz is looking for a creativecampaign that re-engages customers with the brand. The message has to
connect with young people capturing the uniqueness of Heinz Salad Cream, demonstrating it’s versatility wherever you are.

Solution - The “Bring your Own” campaign encourages the audience to change the way they connect with the brand. The act of ‘bringing their own’ bottle of Heinz Salad Cream re-engages them with the product as they re-discover their taste for it and recognise its versatility in a modern environment.

Viral Adverts - With these ads we hoped to capture the humorous nature of the target audience and to evoke their nostalgia. Each ad shows someone bringing their own bottle of Heinz Salad Cream to a unique environment. As the person squeezes the salad cream onto their food it invariably makes a fart noise. The use of this particular sense of humour engages the audience and lets hem reflect on a time when they were young, carefree and found everything funny. A time when many were likely to have been introduced to Heinz Salad Cream for the first time.

Packaging - To accompany the campaign we created limited edition bag sized versions of the Salad Cream. The label would push people to the online competition which would be featured on the Heinz Salad Cream
Facebook page.

Ambient- The Window sticker, is a fun way of engaging people with the brand. It allows restaurants and cafes to get  involved with the campaign and as the trend for bringing Salad Cream with you grows, people are more likely to dine at establishments that allow them to bring their own. This in turn would encourage these places to stock Heinz Salad Cream alongside their regular condiments and firmly cement Salad Creams place in the nations hearts.
